About West Seattle
West Seattle is the city’s largest neighborhood and has been undergoing rapid development for much of the last decade. With the area’s beautiful natural surroundings, the pace of life feels relaxed and easy. The residents of this area describe the neighborhood as a “small town with big city conveniences.” There is easy access to shops, schools, and grocery stores all by foot and well-connected public transport. On its North side is Alki Beach, a great place to spend the summer dipping your toes in the water, watching the Bainbridge Ferry, and taking in a competitive beach volleyball tournament. Alki is a dog-friendly, windy, sandy beach with blocks of shops, beach-front dining, and luxury condos with amazing views of the Olympic Range and Downtown Seattle. Further to the South, you will find the Admiral and Junction areas of the Neighborhood. These are up-and-coming areas popular with young professionals and Seattleites alike. Although the area consists of mainly single-family homes, West Seattle has been filling in with Townhomes, as many people enjoy its secluded location, affordable prices, and beach-like atmosphere.
