Sam Gayle is a Tacoma-Native, having been born on a beautiful spring day in 1993, she has moved all over the Tacoma area all the way through to the North Seattle area in her time. Having seen most of Western Washington through the passenger side window of her father’s work truck, she has read a great deal of books and listened to quite a bit of music, learning patience and enjoying the peace and quiet those long days would bring.
Sam has worked in Commercial Property Management, Retail Management, and Security. Beyond that, she is working to achieve her bachelors in Counseling and certificate in Project Management, having recently achieved her Washington State Real Estate License in October of 2019.
My Name Is: Sam Gayle
I Am: A chock-full of grit, Monday-loving, patient, and passionate person.
Born In: Tacoma, Washington
Languages Spoken: English
Proudest Moment: My ability to face my adversities with one helluva chin. After all of my health issues, I recently celebrated the first year in my life where I didn’t have to go to the doctor for anything.
Biggest Challenge: From the get-go, my health hasn’t always worked in my favor. My lemon-body has challenged me in ways I never could imagine, but with every challenge I have faced, I have kicked the door in on it, accepted it, divided, and conquered.
I Love Real Estate Because: When I was a wee-Sam, my dad and I, in North End Tacoma, would often take walks together and one day we saw a young, newly married couple move out all of their furniture in their (4)-room home onto their lawn, just so they could paint the inside entirely and make it their own. Later that day, they moved everything back inside once the paint dried. Whenever I think of that memory, I remember wanting a life just like that, where I could have my own home and truly make it my own without all of the struggle. A simple life, a small home, with a dog and a yard. I want that for everyone, for each person to have their dream home. Similarly, in Commercial spaces, I want those same people to go to work with little worry about the facility and to feel welcomed back every day.
My Superhero Power: Call me Captain Patience. I have a knack for holding tight through all of the hold music life could ever throw at me.
My Perfect Day: Picture it, it’s the first week of Spring. The sun is out, the air is still chill and crisp, and the light is coming through the windows. I crack a window, letting the breeze hit me, with a cup of coffee, earbuds in, and a good book. I spend the day wrapped up in a light blanket, immersing myself in the music and the words of the author set before me.
First Job: My first real job was at Target, but before that I was your local friendly neighborhood Avon Lady (or well, my dad was, I was underage so I couldn’t have my business in my name.)
Favorite Tacoma Neighborhood: University of Puget Sound area in Tacoma, beautiful, walkable, and quiet.
Biggest Hero/Inspiration: My Biggest Inspiration is Mark Z Danielewksi, a quote of his I live by: “Passion has little to do with euphoria and everything to do with patience. It is not about feeling good. It is about endurance. Like patience, passion comes from the same Latin root: pati. It does not mean to flow with exuberance. It means to suffer.” Mark Z. Danielewski
Hobbies Outside of Real Estate? Writing (Non-Fiction and Sci-Fi-ish stories), listening to Spotify (Discover Weekly is the best!), painting (acrylic and sometimes oils), sculpting (a lot of mixed media but I enjoy working with paper), video games (such as Sims or any other open-world sandbox game), and of course, learning and reading as much as possible
Favorite Sports Team: I don’t watch much sports, but I do watch UFC (MMA) and love George St Pierre (GSP) as a fighter — he is just so kind and humble, his discipline is unparalleled.
Favorite Season: In Washington, Spring. In Vegas? Summer. (Bring on the dry heat!)
