We sent an email to our whole team earlier today with 5 Huge Announcements as we head into the new year. We’re WAY too excited to keep these announcements to ourselves, so we’ve decided to share them with the world! A condensed version of the email we sent is below:
Hello Theory Team!
We have officially reached the last few days of 2020. What a year this has been! Remember the toilet paper shortage? Or the murder hornets? What about when we all wore funny hats at our Weekly Quaran-Team Meetings? This year has been a bit of a roller coaster, but I truly believe that we are all better because of it. We have learned together, we have grown together, we have discussed important topics together, we have helped each other through difficult situations, and we have achieved incredible things together. As we wrap up 2020, we are beyond excited to share 5 HUGE Announcements as we head into the new year!
- PROFIT SHARING – This first announcement is something that we have been talking about for a VERY long time, and we are so excited to finally introduce it! We are starting a Theory Profit Sharing program to express our extreme gratitude to all of YOU! We have HUGE goals and dreams for the future, and we cannot achieve those without each and every person on this team. Teamwork makes the dream work! So starting next quarter, we are going to begin sharing our profits with every person on the Theory Team. Just as we give back 10% of our profit to help out with homelessness in Tacoma, we are also going to share a percentage of our profit with the team to celebrate the previous quarter. We will use this as an opportunity to be transparent with you all and share how we’re doing as a company. How much you receive will be based on your time at Theory. Loyalty will be rewarded! We are SO excited to be able to do this, and we are working extremely hard to make 2021 Theory’s best year yet!
- NEW COMMISSION STRUCTURE – For all of our wonderful Theory Agents, we have decided to improve our commission plan so that everyone is able to keep more of their hard-earned income. Going forward, all Agent-generated transactions will be at a 90/10 split, and we are cutting the commission cap in half to $10,000. We hope that you are all excited about this improved commission structure!
- HEALTH INSURANCE – We are also thrilled to be able to start offering health insurance to everyone employed by Theory! Going into 2021, we are paying 50% of the monthly premium for any of our W2 employees who want to opt into our plan. Our goal is to get to the point in the next few years where we’re able to pay for 100% of health insurance for all of our employees and their family members.
- BEAKER COLLABORATIVE – As I’m sure you’ve all heard by now, we recently launched a new coworking community called Beaker Collaborative! As members of the Theory Team, you are now ALSO members of Beaker Collaborative. This means that you now have access to ALL of our spaces. Right now, this includes the Theory Lab AND the Corner Building on South Tacoma Way. We have big plans to add several more awesome buildings in Tacoma and surrounding cities to Beaker Collaborative, and each of these buildings will be accessible to anyone on the Theory Team, whether you want to work there for the day, meet with clients, or just stop by for coffee anytime! We’re even planning on opening a gym and a speakeasy on South Tacoma Way for our Beaker Collaborative members! If you are interested in renting out one of our private offices at the Theory Lab or the Corner Building, we are offering a 20% discount for all Theory Team Members.
- 2021 VISION – We’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on 2020 and looking forward to 2021. As we head into this new year, we wanted to come up with a word that could help guide our direction and the decisions that we make. We will continue living by our mission of TRANSFORMING People, Communities, and the World. But more specifically, one of the ways we will transform is by INSPIRING. We will inspire our friends, families, clients, coworkers, colleagues, and strangers to think differently, to challenge the status quo, to be the best version of themselves possible, to step outside of their comfort zones, and to achieve more than they could ever imagine. We will inspire with our actions, with our words, with our passion, with our work ethic, and with our attitudes. We will continue to transform people, communities, and the world by inspiring others each and every day.
I truly hope you are as excited about all these announcements as we are. All things considered, it has been an awesome year, and 2021 is going to be even better. Thank you all for being the best team on the planet.
